The biblical story tells us that God has
placed prayer at the very heart of life
in a unique way.
Even with power and sovereignty
residing in God, God has chosen prayer
as the means for interacting with God’s
people. Jesus himself, in addition to
teaching often about prayer, modeled it
as a radical dependence on God for
everything.
He prayed to know God; to know
God’s will, to have the power to do that
will, and to have the perseverance to
complete his ministry and mission.
Even for Jesus, prayer was the
very source of life in every
circumstance.

United in Prayer by Dr. Terry Teykl,

We have made prayer an integral part of
our life, worship, and spiritual growth
at Mathews.
We begin every week with prayer
at the altar prior to Sunday school.
We have a prayer cell that meets
every Monday morning at 10:00 AM to pray
for the ministries and needs of Mathews,
as well as lifting up the needs of our
community, nation, and world.
We also have an active Prayer Chain that
is activated whenever anyone in the
church or community requests special
prayer.
In just a few minutes, numerous
prayers are being lifted up for these
special needs. |
If you need would like for us at
Mathews United Methodist Church to pray
